Jarod Schroeder, who served as the interim head coach at Maryland in 2007-08, joined Northwestern as an assistant coach prior to the 2008-09 season. He was elevated to NU's head coaching position effective Sept. 1, 2009, following the retirement of 20-year head man Bob Groseth. Schroeder is in his fourth season at the helm of the Wildcats.
Schroeder immediately set to work putting his stamp on the program while regaining and maintaining the Wildcats' recent history of national success. In his first year in charge in Evanston, Schroeder coached both Sean Mathews and Alex Tyler to 2010 NCAA Championships appearances, with Tyler picking up an All-America honorable mention honor in the 200 IM to give NU a 34th-place national finish.Read more »
Northwestern graduate and 2015 Mountain West Coach of the Year Abby Steketee returned to Evanston as head coach of the women's swimming and diving program prior to the 2015-16 season.
Steketee comes to Northwestern after serving as head coach at Nevada where she rebuilt that program from the bottom of the WAC to third place in the Mountain West in just three years. Honored by her conference peers as Coach of the Year in 2015, her team broke 12 program records, set four Mountain West conference records and earned a pair of All-America honors in 2014-15 alone.
Jarod Schroeder has announced the hiring of former Wildcat swimmer Alec Hayden as the program's assistant coach in September of 2017.
Hayden, was a two-time team captain for Northwestern during his undergraduate career, returns to the Norris Aquatics Center after spending three seasons as the assistant coach for the Illinois women's swimming and diving program. Hayden graduated Northwestern in 2008 with dual degrees in mathematical methods in the social sciences and economics.Read more »
Jesse Moore joined the Northwestern women's swimming and diving program as an associate head coach on Sept. 1, 2016.
Moore will spearhead recruiting, development and communications in addition to implementing daily practice plans for the Wildcats.
Steve Steketee enters his first season at Northwestern as a volunteer assistant coach of the women’s swimming and diving program.
The Northwestern alumnus and former Big Ten champion in the 200-freestyle, Steketee joins the Wildcats with 12 years of college coaching experience. He was most recently an assistant at Nevada.
